CASAS Analysis Process

In order to describe the analysis process in detail, it is helpful to consider the behavior of the case and chamber as occurring in the following six phases. Each phase requires a unique analysis with different boundary conditions. This is one factor that makes it so difficult to solve this problem with general purpose analysis tools.

Phase I - Initial Conditions
Phase II - Propellant Ignition
Phase III - Pressure Load Increase
Phase IV - Elastic Recovery
Phase V - Residual Clearance or Interference
