Preparing the Picture File

The Projectile Tracing tool can accept three standard picture formats as input. The formats are

PRODAS Versions 3 projectile models are always entered with the nose of the projectile facing right. Therefore to use the Projectile Tracing Tool our example picture must be rotated to position the projectile with the nose facing right. This can easily be accomplished with any graphic editor.

The example bit map file, SCUD-B.bmp, has the projectile already oriented with the nose to the right. So to follow our example it is not necessary to rotate the round. For completeness this example will show how to rotate the round using Microsoft Paint.

Microsoft Paint which is normally found under Accessories in the Microsoft Programs menu is an easy tool to rotate the projectile. The picture below shows a typical way to access paint on a Windows XP computer.
